The National Institute of Justice (NIJ) hereby advises C.I.A. Miguel Caballero S.A.S. ballistic-resistant body armor model CLASSIC FRONT PLATE, has been permanently removed from the NIJ Compliant Products List due to unresolved safety concerns. The Scope of this notice is limited to the enclosed list of serial numbers. Any armors of this model designation and serial number should be replaced as soon as possible.
NIJ encourages law enforcement and corrections officers to continue to wear their body armor until it is replaced. Wearing armor that may have reduced effectiveness is better than not wearing any armor.
