Artificial intelligence is a broad technical discipline that has the power to transform the criminal justice community. AI is built into the background of many daily activities- e.g., using a search engine or unlocking our phones- and is being applied to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and expand capabilities for law enforcement, courts, and the corrections community. Although AI can bring significant value, it brings significant practical and ethical concerns. The following reports provide information on AI-enabled technologies and the realities of implementing these in a criminal justice environment.
