An Atlanta police officer, responding to a home invasion call, was shot in the abdomen. He managed to return fire and two suspects are in custody. The unnamed officer is recovering at an area hospital. Officials are citing the fact that he was wearing his ballistic body armor as saving his life. He is expected to recover and head home soon.
