A disturbance call in Randolph County, NC turned violent when a person exited a residence and stabbed an officer in the chest. Although there are no guarantees that ballistic-resistant vests will provide protection against edged-weapons, in many cases, as was the case in Randolph County, the vest was damaged and needed to be replaced, but the officer suffered no serious injuries.
