Three officers were shot after responding to a call of a suspicious person near a residence. The incident took place around 9:44pm on Potomac Drive. Officers found a possible domestic situation upon arrival; when the officers confronted the suspect, the suspect begin firing a weapon at the officers. All 3 officers survived and were transported to 2 area hospitals. The first office was struck in the face and had to have emergency surgery. The second officer was shot in the arm which caused a break in a bone. The third officer was struck in the back of their bullet proof vest. A press released stated that the 3 officer’s vest prevented a more serious injury.
The suspect was arrested at the scene and the suspected weapon used to fire at the officers was recovered. No further details are available as the investigation is still pending.
