A Daytona Beach, Florida police officer attempting to serve an arrest warrant for attempted murder was shot in the chest by the suspect. According to a statement by Chief of Police Craig Capri, because the officer was wearing body armor, he only suffered a bruise to his chest from the impact of the shot that struck him. He was treated at local hospital, and is expected to make a full recovery.
